Globalstar asks TalkBaja to become a SPOT Ambassador

Globalstar, provider of the SPOT Gen3 Satellite messaging service recently provided me with a SPOT Gen3 device. I have been asked to use the service in my work down here in Baja, Mexico and share my personal experience using the equipment and tracking service. 

I must admit that after using the service for a few weeks now, I am impressed with the equpment, the technology and the service supporting the SPOT Gen3. I will continue to use this device along with other products offered by Globalstar and give an honest assessment of my experience using the equipment and service.

Baja is an intriguing, mystical and diverse location full of adventure all along it's 1200+ kilometer length. The peninsula remains largely a vast region of remote territory with relatively few services, even fewer people and no cell service over tens of thousands of square miles down here.

The combination of long, pristine and lonely coastlines, remote deserts and isolated mountain regions make this peninsula extremely attractive to off-roaders, surfers, hikers and adventure seekers in general. It's a very difficult temptation to pass up. Many of us here have felt that same calling.

Unlimited Tracking
Set it and forget it. Pre-set your SPOT Gen3 to send tracks at the speed of your adventures. Change your tracks to send every 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes. SPOT Gen3 will send tracks at your chosen rate for as long as your device is turned on and moving (no need to re-set after 24 hours). Tracking doesn't stop until you do.
Extreme Tracking
Get all of the great features of Unlimited Tracking, but with the added ability to vary your track rate down to every 2 ½ minutes. Don't miss a step with increased track rates!

SPOT Gen3 has approximately twice the battery life of the SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger!
